Councillors' Surgery & MP's Surgery

Print

The  COUNCILLORS' SURGERIES are held on a Saturday once a month from 10-11am at Telscombe Civic Centre.  The next one is scheduled for Saturday 2nd October 2010.  There will normally be both a Telscombe Town Councillor and County/District Councillor in attendance. This is your opportunity to discuss local issues with your Councillor, so please come along - no appointment necessary.

Dates for next Surgery -    Saturday 6th November  **  Saturday 4th December

MP'S SURGERY - We are pleased to announce that our MP for the Brighton Kemptown area, Simon Kirby, will now be holding surgeries at Telscombe Civic Centre.  The time will be from 10-11am and you will need to make an appointment to see him. You should call 0207 219 7024, which is an answerphone service, and leave your details stating that it is for an 'advice surgery appointment'.  You will then be called back.  The date for his next surgery is Saturday 6th November.   These dates coincide with the Telscombe Councillors' surgeries, so that if you need to, you can see both your MP and local Councillor on the same day.

COFFEE MORNING - Telscombe Residents Association runs a coffee morning at the same time as the Councillors' Surgeries, the next one being on Saturday 2nd October at 10am.  Please come along and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.

New Community Bus

Print

Peacehaven & Telscombe Town Councils are funding a new community bus which launched on 1st April 2009.  It will run between 9 am and 2.30 pm on Monday to Friday.  It will take you to and from anywhere within the Peacehaven, Telscombe and East Saltdean and Newhaven area, including Telscombe Village.  You can use the service to travel to local shops and supermarkets, doctors, dentist, optician appointments, or to visit friends, day centres, play centres, leisure centre etc. The minibus is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate folding buggies.  Most residents living within the area covered by the service can use the community bus.  First you need to register which is free. To check elegibility please phone the CTLA on 01273 517332.  It costs just one standard flat rate fare of £1.50 per journey. Accompanied children under 12 years of age are free. Unfortunately the national bus pass cannot be accepted on this service.  It is a personal service providing door to door transport (subject to access).   To book the service you will need to ring the CTLA offices giving at least one day's notice - the offices are manned between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
