The  COUNCILLORS' SURGERIES are held on a Saturday morning once a month from 10-11am at Telscombe Civic Centre.  The next one is scheduled for Saturday 1st November 2014.     There will normally be both a Telscombe Town Councillor and County/District Councillor in attendance. This is your opportunity to discuss local issues with your Councillor, so please come along - no appointment is necessary.        Dates for next Surgeries -

MP'S SURGERY - We are pleased to announce that our MP for the Brighton Kemptown area, Simon Kirby, will now be holding surgeries at Telscombe Civic Centre.  The time will be from 10-11am on the first Saturday of the month on a quarterly basis -  you will need to make an appointment to see him by calling 01273 589178 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. FREE Children's film and games morning - at Telscombe Civic Centre on the first Saturday of each month, 10am - midday.

Electric blanket testing - at Telscombe Civic Centre on Thursday 16th October from 10am to midday

Bingo -  Friday 24th October 2014 - 7pm prompt start  at Telscombe Civic Centre.     8 games played at a cost of £4, plus an additional snowball game for 50p a ticket and flyer game for £1.  Cash prizes. Free tea, coffee & biscuits at a half-time break.  Don't miss out on the fun.  Proceeds to the Mayor of Telscombe's charity fund.

The Deans Senior Tea Club - at Telscombe Civic Centre every Tuesday from 10.30am - 12.30 pm.  Tea, cake, entertainment and trips, all for a £1-£2 optional donation.  This is a new club so why not come along and join in, its a great way of getting out and meeting people. 

Photographic Competition - The Town Council is holding a photographic competition with the title 'Wildlife in Telscombe'.  The theme is open to individual interpretation but entries must have the natural world at heart.  Photographs of domestic animals (pets) are not allowed.  All photographs should be between 1-2mb in size (3 maximum) and should to be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by the closing date of Friday 24th October 2014, along with your name, age, address and telephone number.  All entries must be original work of the entrant, must not infringe on the rights of any other party and the entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright of all photos.  Categories are  (a) under 12's   (b)  13-19 years old    (c)   age 20 and above   (d)  the funniest snap.   Winners of the 4 categories will receive vouchers of £25 each.  Full competition rules are available from the Civic Centre or by clicking on the heading 'Community' above then 'news'.

Quiz Night - Friday 21st November, 7pm, at Telscombe Civic Centre.  Teams of up to 6 at £2 per person.  Come along and enjoy this fun night.  Ring 01273 589777 to book in.  Cash prizes.  Net proceeds to Mayor of Telscombe's charity fund.

Race Night - Saturday 22nd November at Telscombe Civic Centre - 7pm for 7.30pm start.  There will be 8 races, refreshments, pay bar and a raffle.  Tickets only £5 and are available from Telscombe Civic Centre reception.  In aid of the Telscombe Residents Association and the Mayor of Telscombe's charity fund.

The Council endeavour to ensure Telscombe Tye continues to be a safe and relaxing environment for its residents and visitors to enjoy and the following activities pose an unacceptable risk to public safety/are not permitted:-   Hang Gliding, Para Gliding and Kite Boarding; Metal Detecting; Dog Fouling.   Offences will be prosecuted:- Driving Motor Vehicles (Section 34 Road Traffic Act 1988);  Offence of Livestock Worrying; Firearms, Shotguns and Air Weapons (Section 19 or 20 (2) Firearms Act 1968).

East Sussex County Council Bus Service Consultation – ESCC are consulting residents regarding proposed changes to subsidised bus services.  The proposals would save £1.79m of public money but they would like your views on the changes before they make any decisions.  Forms are available at Telscombe Civic Centre reception or you can complete an online version at  The survey needs to be completed and returned by 28th September 2014.  If you have any queries contact the Highways Contact Centre on 0345 60 80 194. 



New Community Bus

New Community BusPeacehaven & Telscombe Town Councils fund a community bus which launched 4 years ago.  The service will now runs between 7.30am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.  It will take you to and from anywhere within the Peacehaven, Telscombe and East Saltdean, Newhaven and Seaford area, including Telscombe Village.  You can use the service to travel to local shops and supermarkets, doctors, dentist, optician appointments, or to visit friends, day centres, play centres, leisure centre etc. The minibus is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate folding buggies.  Most residents living within the area covered by the service can use the community bus.  First you need to register which is free. To check elegibility please phone the CTLA on 01273 517332.  Costs vary depending on where you travel to.  Accompanied children under 12 years of age are free. Unfortunately the national bus pass cannot be accepted on this service.  It is a personal service providing door to door transport (subject to access).   To book the service you will need to ring the CTLA offices giving at least one day's notice - the offices are manned between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
