A message from South East Water:
We wanted to let you know that we’re planning to replace approximately 274 metres of burst-prone water main in Cavell Avenue North and Firle Road, Peacehaven.
This £155,000 project will replace the existing pipeline, which has burst three times in the last five years, resulting in low pressure or no water for our customers in the area. This is unacceptable to us. Replacing this section of water main with a new pipe, will enable us to secure the flow of water to customers and reduce the likelihood of future bursts.
Work is due to begin on Monday 27 November, and is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
For the safety of motorists, the public and our construction team, the work on Firle Road will be carried out under multi-way traffic lights. Cavell Avenue North and the end of Southview Road at the junction with Cavell Avenue North will be closed for the duration. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained, but residents on Southview Road will need to travel in and out via Roderick Avenue.
There will be a short break over the Christmas period when the road will be reopened to minimise disruption to residents. However, the dates have not yet been confirmed and we will write to you to let you know nearer the time.

Thank you in advance for your support as we carry out this vital work.
Kind regards
