Lewes District Council regularly reviews the division of its area into polling districts and the places where electors are asked to vote.
A full review of the whole district is at least every five years or when a change in a particular polling place is proposed to be made.
Our last full review was carried out in 2020 and approved by the council in December 2020.
The Returning Officer has prepared a consultation document which includes comments and recommendations of the suitability of polling stations within in each polling district.
This document is available to download here.
We are inviting the views of residents of the district, particularly people with a disability, on the proposals or any other related matter.
We also welcome any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability to make a representation or to comment on the authority’s proposals, the Returning Officer’s representation or any other related matter.
Persons or bodies making representations should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.

A copy of the consultation document is available for inspection at 6 High Street, Lewes, BN7 2AD on Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 4pm.
The final date for receipt of representations is 5pm on Friday 3rd November 2023.
Final proposals will be published as part of the agenda papers for meeting of Full Council on Monday 20th November 2023.
Full Council will then consider the scheme for approve its meeting on Monday 20th November 2023
