Telscombe Town Council are exploring a project to add a café in Chatsworth Park.
A café could bring many benefits to the town and park such as:
* Social space for people using the park including dog walkers, people working from home, parents taking their children to the play areas
* Creating a social space in the centre of a residential area
* Improving facilities within Telscombe
* Reducing the environmental costs of people using their cars to visit a café
* Extending how long people can use the park
Alongside 50% grant funding from other sources, we will need to take out a loan to cover the balance, plus factor in annual running costs. This would necessitate an increase in Council Tax for a Band D property of approximately 12p a week or £6.40 per annum.
This does not take into account revenue from a successful café operation. However, there is likely be a further increase when setting the budget to cover provision for other Council services.
All responses will be handled anonymously. As there are council tax implications for a café we would like to know addresses for respondents so we know how those whose council tax may be affected are responding.
