Town Clerk Meets the Queen

Town Clerk Meets the Queen

Stella Newman, Town Clerk of Telscombe Town Council, recently had the honour of attending a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of her long and dedicated service to the local community.

Reflecting on the occasion, Stella described it as a privilege and a truly memorable experience, made even more special when Her Majesty Queen Camilla took the time to speak with her personally and shake her hand.

Stella was nominated in recognition of more than 22 years of outstanding service to Telscombe Town Council. Throughout her time as Town Clerk, she has played a pivotal role in overseeing the Council’s activities and supporting the delivery of services for the benefit of residents.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Stella has made a significant voluntary contribution to the community through fundraising efforts. Over many years, Stella and her husband, Stan, have organised and supported numerous fundraising events in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Fund, helping to raise substantial sums for local causes.

The invitation to attend the Royal Garden Party was a fitting acknowledgement of Stella’s dedication, commitment and many years of service to both the Council and the wider community.
